150 American & Canadian locomotive photos 1987-1989 on CD

Disk four – American Railroads

in the late 1980's.

This CD-R features 150 full colour photographs of American locomotives seen in the Southern Michigan / Northern Ohio area from 1987-1989, and Canadian locomotives in Toronto and Southern Ontario as well.  Many of the locomotives featured are older units from the 1950’s/60’s so there is some good nostalgia here too.

• Railroads featured include:  Amtrak, Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, Conrail, CSX Transportation, Grand Trunk and Western, GO Transit, Norfolk Southern, VIA Rail, plus numerous smaller lines that have been incorporated into these.

• Over 30 different locomotive models including:  B23-7, B36-7, C30-7, C36-7, C39-8, C424, F40PH, F59PH, FPA4, FP7, FP9, GP7, GP8, GP9, GP15, GP30, GP35, GP38, GP40, GP50, LRC, M420, M630, M636, SD35, SD40, SD45, SD60, SW7, SW8, SW1200, SW1500, U23B, U30C plus numerous variants.

• Includes 15 photos of preserved diesels of types:  E8A, F7A, H10-44, NW2, RS2, RSD12, S2 and S4 at three different preservation sites.

• Includes 20 photos of TWO different steam hauled railtours with the streamlined N&W 611, and the articulated N&W 1218 – one of the largest steam locomotives ever built.

• Descriptions:  Every photo comes with a caption stored in the “file properties” detailing the locomotive, location, exact date and some other interesting information as well.  There are also MS Word and *.RTF format files containing all the captions for the whole disk so you can view/print them out too.

• Help file:  I have also added another file with details of all the different locomotive models plus explanations of abbreviations, just in case you are not too familiar with American railroads.  This file is also stored in both MS Word and *.RTF formats.

• All photos have been scanned directly from 35mm negatives at a super-high resolution of 2400dpi to give you the best possible image.

• All photos are approx 8.5 Megapixels in standard JPEG format.

• Locomotives are arranged on the disk alphabetically by railroad company.

• I use quality Memorex brand disks, NOT cheap “shop’s-own” disks.  The CD comes supplied in a slim-line plastic case.

• The disk also comes with a colour sleeve and colour artwork label.  This is NOT a “no-frills” item.

I have been an amateur photographer and railway enthusiast for over 20 years.  All photographs on this disk are my own work using a Nikon N2000 35mm SLR camera with either 100 or 200 speed film.

I retain copyright over all images.  They are for personal enjoyment and non-profit use only.  The words "copyright protected" do not appear on the photos on the disk, they are here only to stop people downloading them.
